PRINCIPLE 11 – SUSTAINABILITY AND LONG-TERM ORIENTATION
“Efforts should be made to maximise the sustainability of decisions and actions taken by government, public institutions and public officials, and to take into account their potential impact on future generations and the ability of those generations to address their own needs.”
11.1 OUTCOME: Current policy and decision-making processes reference resilience, sustainability, and intergenerational equity and acknowledge the impacts on the administration, the community, and the environment currently and in the future.
11.2 OUTCOME: Policy and decision-making processes acknowledge and strive to preserve the historical, cultural, and societal aspects of the context they are targeting.
11.3 OUTCOME: Strategic planning processes are in place; they include key stakeholders and are being developed beyond electoral cycles to address the future requirements of people and the communities.
