Igoumenitsa is a Greek Municipality located in the periphery of Epirus (peripheral unit of Thesprotia). Following the administrative reform known as the Callicrate programme in force since January 2011, which abolished prefectures and merged several municipalities, the surface area of the Municipality is now 428 km² and the population has decreased from 14,710 to 24,130 inhabitants.
